Everything you need to know about Corflex brain training.
Corflex is a free, browser-based brain training platform featuring 18 cognitive games. Each game targets a different mental skill — sequential memory, spatial reasoning, reaction time, color perception, pitch matching, pattern recognition, and more. Play solo, compete on leaderboards, or challenge friends in multiplayer party rooms.
Yes, completely free. There are no paywalls, no premium tiers, and no hidden costs. All 18 games, daily challenges, weekly tournaments, party rooms, and leaderboards are accessible to everyone. We display non-intrusive ads on select pages (never during gameplay) to support the platform.
No. Corflex runs entirely in your web browser. It works on desktop, tablet, and mobile devices — any modern browser with JavaScript enabled will work. No app store, no installation, no plugins.
No. When you first visit Corflex, an anonymous player ID is generated and stored in your browser. You can play all games, appear on leaderboards, and track your progress without ever creating an account. Optionally, you can sign in with Google or Discord to sync your progress across multiple devices.
Every game consists of 5 rounds, each scored from 0 to 10, for a maximum total of 50. The scoring formula is different for each mode and tuned to its specific cognitive demand. For example, Rhythm scores timing precision in milliseconds, Chroma uses perceptual color distance (CIELAB Delta E), and Harmony measures pitch accuracy in semitones. The common thread is that higher accuracy always means a higher score.
Easy mode provides a comfortable starting point with fewer elements, longer display times, and simpler patterns. Hard mode increases the challenge with more items to remember, shorter windows, and tighter scoring thresholds. Both difficulties are available for solo and multiplayer play. Daily challenges are always Easy. Weekly tournaments are always Hard.
Corflex includes: Sequence (ordered recall), Grid (spatial memory), Rhythm (beat timing), Transform (rule prediction), Oddity (visual search), Mirror (symmetry), Flash (rapid counting), Track (object tracking), Shift (change detection), Glyph (symbol decoding), Chroma (color reproduction), Harmony (pitch matching), Index (working memory), Maze (path recall), Melody (tonal sequence), Reflex (reaction time), Morph (word patterns), and Cascade (spatial drop memory). Visit the Games page for detailed descriptions of each.
Brain Score is your cognitive rating on Corflex, ranging from 0 to 100. Corflex tracks two independent scores — an Easy Brain Score and a Hard Brain Score — so casual play and competitive play stay on separate footing. Each is calculated by summing your best score across all 18 modes at that difficulty and dividing by the maximum possible (900). A score of 80+ puts you among the top performers on the platform. Read the full breakdown.
Play all 18 modes at the corresponding difficulty. Daily challenges count toward your Easy score (dailies are always Easy by design). Solo plays count toward whichever difficulty you chose. Easy and Hard unlock independently — you can have one unlocked without the other. Once unlocked, your Brain Score appears on your profile, the home screen, and the global Brain Score leaderboard.
Improve your personal best in any mode at the relevant difficulty. Brain Score is calculated from your all-time best scores per difficulty, so a new personal best in even one mode will raise your overall rating. Focus on your weakest modes for the biggest gains.
Every day at midnight UTC, each of the 18 modes gets a fresh challenge. All players receive the same puzzle seed, ensuring a fair comparison. You get one attempt per mode per day. Your scores appear on the daily leaderboard, which resets every 24 hours.
Each week (resetting Monday at midnight UTC), one mode is selected on Hard difficulty. Every player gets the same puzzle seed and one attempt. The top 10 finishers earn a permanent trophy badge displayed on their profile and across all leaderboards. The mode rotates through all 18 games on an 18-week cycle.
Party Rooms let you compete with friends on the same puzzles. Create a room, pick one or more modes, choose a difficulty, and share the link. Everyone who joins plays the same randomly-generated puzzles. A shared leaderboard shows scores per mode and overall totals. No account required — just share the link.
Corflex has three types of leaderboards: Daily (today's challenge scores, resets at midnight UTC), Weekly (best solo scores from the past 7 days), and All-Time (personal bests, deduplicated so each player appears once). You can filter by mode or view all modes. Players with identical scores are ranked by submission time — earlier submissions rank higher.
Corflex stores your anonymous player ID, game scores, and chosen initials or display name. If you sign in with Google or Discord, your OAuth profile information is used to link your account across devices. Local storage holds your settings, streak data, and daily challenge state. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
Corflex works on all modern browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge. For the best experience, use the latest version of your browser. JavaScript must be enabled. Some audio features may require user interaction to initialize on mobile devices.
Corflex uses the Web Audio API for all sound. On mobile devices, browsers require a user gesture (tap) before audio can play. Tap any button on the page to unlock audio. You can also adjust volume or change sound profiles using the controls in the bottom-right corner of the screen.
The Corflex blog covers the cognitive science behind the platform — how Brain Score is computed, what working memory actually is, what reaction time research tells us, and whether brain training really delivers on its promises.
